Is age really that important?? As what people said, "Never judge the book by its cover''. To me, "Don't judge a person by his or her age.''
Recently I was given gym vouchers that suppose to allow my friends and I attend gym free for 3 weeks. As like most of the business tricks, the terms and conditions aren't stated clearly. Reaching there, preparing to sweat like mad, we weren't allowed to excess without parents' permission according to them cause we are only 17 years old.
''I am really sorry. Your parent or at least your brother needs to be here to register with you.''
Truly I was like the pan on the stove. Then I started arguing with her saying that my other friend who became a member of this gym center when she was 16 or 15 years old. I don't get the point when we can't go in.
I know it is dangerous to go gym and work non stop. I heard story of people dying because of working out at gym but that is not the point. We are there to exercise and to pass time. Plus we are 17 years old, months away to officially turn into 18 years old.
Luckily my friend's mother was there, we planned to register for her first and I will get mine later. The lady insisted us to bring an adult (parent or siblings) to register. We sat down and talked to one of the girls. Ended up, she was busy selling the member package as what normally other shops do. Then, she went on and on. Knowing the fact that we weren't really pleased. She stopped.
After the confirmation by the manager or whoever, we were told that the vouchers are for the guest above 18 years old. Oh well, you guys can imagine how speechless was I and I was too lazy to debate anymore, accepting the fact that I am still underage.
Rule is rule. We have to follow. This is life. Just like they saying that we can only learn how to drive (as in not undang ) when we are 17.
16.5 cant.
16.75 years old cant.
Only when you are 17!
great. Sigh.
Isn't it weird that we can only vote when we are 21 but drive when we are 17?
Age doesn't tell how much a people knows or either how mature is a person.
